The iPad is basically a larger iPhone or iPod Touch.

The iPad is not a laptop, not even accurate. It was designed to be a device even more portable than a laptop, but used for media (surveillance movies for instance), not productivity.

Its more like a huge iPhone that doesn’t call and optional 3G connectivity..

No, the iPad is not at all like a laptop. Basically, it is like a huge iPod touch. You can still write documents on it though.
